Dr. Ndèye Codé Laure Tall is a prominent Senegalese agroecologist and the Executive Director of the Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale (IPAR), a leading West African think tank focused on agricultural and rural policies. She earned her Ph.D. in ecology from the University of Montreal in 2012, specializing in microbial nitrogen transformations in rivers. Dr. Tall spent seven years as a leading researcher at the Senegalese Institute for Agricultural Research (ISRA), where she directed the National Laboratory for Plant Production Research (LNRPV) and co-managed regional initiatives on the ecological intensification of West African soils.
At the intersection of research and public policy, Dr. Tall's work drives climate change adaptation, sustainable food systems, and gender equity across Sub-Saharan Africa. Beyond traditional agroecology, she serves as the Principal Investigator for the Gender and Responsible AI Network (GRAIN) Scaling Hub, where she leads reflections on how emerging digital technologies and AI can be deployed inclusively to support vulnerable farmers. Through her leadership at IPAR, she connects rigorous scientific evidence with public policy dialogues to foster territorial transformation and empower women and young people in agriculture.
