À propos

The Centre de Recherche et d'Étude sur la Pauvreté et la Sécurité Alimentaire Durable (CREPSAD) is an independent, non-profit research institute and think tank based in Lomé, Togo. Originally emerging from a university research framework, this specialized organization is dedicated to alleviating rural vulnerability and fostering sustainable food systems across West Africa. Led by its Executive Director, Prof. Egnonto M. Koffi-Tessio, a distinguished scholar in applied agricultural economics, CREPSAD bridges the gap between rigorous scientific field data and practical socioeconomic policy design to lift low-income communities out of structural poverty.Operationally, the center focuses heavily on designing resilient agricultural, livestock, and fisheries frameworks that can withstand regional climate volatility and protect vulnerable food supply chains. Beyond basic research, CREPSAD serves as a vital technical advisory partner for international development agencies and local NGOs, providing expert project monitoring and evaluation (M&E) services to measure the real-world impact of aid. By training local stakeholders and analyzing socio-economic trends, the think tank works to ensure that national and regional food security initiatives achieve long-term sustainability.
