Pursuant to Article 118 of the Treaty for establishment of the East African Community Partner states, undertook to take joint action towatrds the prevention and control of communicable diseases and to control pandemics and epdemics of communicable and vector - borne diseases that might endanger the health and welfare of the residents of partner states. Thus, all countries should be prepared for containment, including active surveillance, early detection, isolation and case management, contact tracing and prevention of onward spread of COVID 19 infection and to share full data with WHO
