About

The Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES) is an independent, non-profit think tank established in 1992 to promote sustainable economic development in Egypt. Headquartered in Cairo along the Corniche El Nil, ECES serves as a vital bridge between the public sector, private businesses, academia, and the media. The center specializes in high-quality, applied policy research and seeks to accelerate economic growth while firmly balancing economic efficiency with social justice and equity. By addressing critical macroeconomic challenges, financial-sector reforms, and unemployment, ECES actively aims to integrate the Egyptian economy into the global marketplace.

Driven by an annual work program endorsed by its board of directors, the center tackles pressing domestic issues through structural, institutional, and legislative reform proposals. ECES disseminates its data-driven findings widely through its Working Papers Series, the Business Barometer, and high-level regional events such as the Cairo Forum. Through close collaboration with local and international experts, the organization transforms complex market data into viable, actionable policy options, helping Egyptian decision-makers build a highly productive, private-sector-led economy.
