About

The Centro de Integridade Pública (CIP) is an independent, non-profit Mozambican civil society organization established in 2005 to champion good governance, transparency, and anti-corruption efforts. Headquartered in Maputo, Mozambique, the center was founded by a multi-disciplinary group of investigative journalists, academics, lawyers, and social scientists. Operating as a non-partisan watchdog, CIP conducts rigorous data-driven research and public monitoring to expose institutional irregularities and advocate for the routine rule of law. In 2011, the organization's regional credibility was further solidified when it was officially accredited as the national chapter of Transparency International in Mozambique.

The institute organizes its policy advocacy across five primary pillars: transparency in politics, public sector accountability, justice and good governance, private sector integrity, and environmental governance. CIP is highly regarded for its deep-dive analytical outputs, including its evaluations of foreign aid, public procurement tracking, and the specialized Mozambique Extractive Sector Transparency Index (ITSE). By actively assessing multi-million dollar resource concessions and examining public finance shortfalls, such as ongoing foreign currency crises, CIP translates complex economic indicators into public campaigns that empower citizens and pressure state entities to safeguard the nation's common goods.
