Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale

The Initiative Prospective Agricole et Rurale (IPAR) is a leading independent think tank established in 2005 and headquartered in Dakar, Senegal. It serves as a vital platform for research, strategic dialogue, and policy formulation focused on agriculture, sustainable resource management, and rural development across West Africa. By bringing together agricultural specialists, policymakers, and grassroots farmers' organizations, IPAR works to bridge the gap between academic research and actionable public policy to support local populations. The organization prioritizes key socio-economic challenges in the region, including land governance, climate change resilience, youth employment, and the modernization of family farming. Through rigorous field studies and collaborative policy workshops, IPAR empowers local communities and regional bodies to make data-driven decisions. Their ultimate mission is to foster inclusive economic transformation and ensure long-term food security throughout the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) zone.
