This second biennial continental report assesses the progress made by African Union Member States in implementing the First Ten-Year Implementation Plan of Agenda 2063 (2014-2023). The report consolidates data and analyses from 38 AU Member States to evaluate performance against 2021 targets across the Agenda's 20 goals, categorized under its seven aspirations. The findings reveal a mixed picture: while the continent has made significant strides in political integration (e.g., AfCFTA), infrastructure, and health, it has faced challenges in areas like economic transformation, job creation, and poverty reduction—challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The report highlights key achievements, regional disparities, the state of flagship projects, the impact of COVID-19, and institutional arrangements for implementation. It concludes with recommendations for strengthening political support, programming, data management, and resource mobilization to accelerate progress towards "The Africa We Want."
